It has a diameter of about 152,000 light-years and is located about 2.5 million light-years away from Earth. It contains about 1 trillion stars, many of which are older than the Sun. It is also home to several star clusters, nebulae, and black holes. The Andromeda Galaxy is expected to collide with the Milky Way in about 4-5 billion years, forming a giant elliptical galaxy
